I was just reading the previous comment by Jing Mei, when I realised that it was almost three years ago. Three years! With a hopeful heart I clicked on the link he or she left, hoping that I might be able to see who it might have been who had left the comment. Alas, my three-year-old action was a little too late — the link leads to nowhere.

The fragility of links on the internet should really make one ponder more often than it usual on the fragility of life itself. Who knows when a link will die — who knows when you will.

i’m so glad i’ve found this translation! i wouldn’t know about this song if khalil fong hadn’t covered it in his timeless album, but when i first heard it i was instantly hooked. i don’t know chinese but i knew that this song was something special. thanks for this translation & your commentary on the song. it’s helped me have an even deeper meaning (& appreciation) for the lyrics. :)
